Team Parents

What is a Team Manager?

The AYSO Team Manager, sometimes called Team Parent, or Team Mom, or Team Dad, is a crucial element of every team. They are the coach's assistant, cheerleader, team communicator, and traffic director all in one.

The Team Manager is also the unofficial Kids Zone representative at every game. Kids Zone is one of the ways AYSO makes sure all its players and volunteers are having fun. The program encourages spectators to use good language, show good sportsmanship in attitude and behavior, and create an enjoyable season for every player.

Team Manager Duties

Trying to get a handle on what an AYSO Region 114 Team Manager does? Take a look at the one page Team Manager Duties sheet. Also check out this Team Parent Tips For A Great Season.

AYSO Kids Zone Parent Pledge

Hand this pledge form out to your parents at the beginning of the season, to make sure they understand the importance of respecting the AYSO Kids Zone.

How do I sign up to be Team Manager?

Log into your account, and click Volunteer, and submit a Team Manager application for your player's age-division. (Submit one Team Manager application for each team you are volunteering to Manage.)

What do I need to do to become a Team Manager?

Team Managers must submit an application and complete an online background check. 24 hours after the background check clears, the Team Manager should have access to AYSOU in their Volunteer Profile, where you complete three (short) online safety courses:

  • Safe Haven
  • Concussion Awareness
  • Sudden Cardiac Arrest

Need help taking the courses? See this Region 114 Volunteer Sign-up PDF for step-by-step instructions.

All Team Managers are asked to complete the above safety courses. It does not take long, and it could save a life!
