What is a Team Manager?

The AYSO Team Manager, sometimes called Team Parent, or Team Mom, or Team Dad, is a crucial element of every team. They are the coach's assistant, cheerleader, team communicator, and traffic director all in one.

The Team Manager is also the unofficial Kids Zone representative at every game. Kids Zone is one of the ways AYSO makes sure all its players and volunteers are having fun. The program encourages spectators to use good language, show good sportsmanship in attitude and behavior, and create an enjoyable season for every player.

How do I sign up to be Team Manager?

Log into your ayso114.org account, and click Volunteer, and submit a Team Manager application for your player's age-division. (Submit one Team Manager application for each team you are volunteering to Manage.)

What do I need to do to become a Team Manager?

Each year all AYSO volunteers need to:

• Submit a volunteer application at ayso114.org under your own account
• Complete an online background check.
• Complete Safe Sport course (either 90 minute full, or 30 minute refresher)

All volunteers must complete these courses ONCE

• Safe Haven
• Concussion Awareness
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest

All Team Managers are asked to complete the above safety courses. It does not take long, and it could save a life!

When to Submit Your Volunteer Application

New and returning volunteers need to submit a Volunteer Application every season. (In both Fall and Spring seasons.) You should submit your application once Registration for that season opens. If you are wanting to volunteer in the upcoming Fall season, please wait until that registration opens, or you will have to submit an application again. 

IMPORTANT! You do not have to pay money for the background check. When presented with the option to pay yourself or let the AYSO Region pay, feel free to choose "Not at this time" to let us play.
